The arrival of affordable digital cameras of good quality has heralded the ability of the masses to make their own visual effects. Editing or manipulating digital video is a lot easier and so much faster than editing its analog counterpart. Editing analog video often means re-shooting scenes over and over again to achieve a desired effect, resulting in waste. Digital video is a whole lot cheaper, as very little cost is incurred for re-shooting and this is often not required anyway, as effects can be directly added onto frames in most cases.
