suzyq asked:

I am in need of advice from the plumbers out there. I want a good kitchen faucet that will not give me problems in the future. There are so many brands to choose from. Which is the best brand as far as reliability goes? Thanks so much! I will be shopping today based on your answers!

I prefer Delta single handle faucets for fast setting of temps and volume and durability. American brand have worked OK.

I have used Moen in the past 4 houses I’ve lived in.

We only had one problem with their product, and Moen not only sent us a new faucet for free, they paid for the plumber to install it. Keep your receipt, as well as any receipt from installation professionals, and you will be fine.

Remember, many of the big box stores have faucets made just for them by this faucet manufacturers. This supposedly gives them an edge on the local guys.
So my advice is the local suppliers. Most of these will have Delta,Kohler,Moen and they will be the style that better builders will use, just because they can get parts.
Lowes and Menards have the mentality to change styles and brands every other month. They do this on lots of things-they think they can’t keep same model in stock. What they don’t realize is people like me won’t buy there because of that.
I bought a halogen light there 6 months ago, now they no longer carry that light OR the bulbs that go in it.
Yes, you will pay a little more - but when you need a new flow ball for your faucet - that local supply house will probably have it in stock. It’s just like lawn movers - John Deere, Snapper, Troy built all have built special models for the big box stores to sell, they are a little lighter gauge steel, seats, decks, more plastic. Good Luck
